A Comedy Hypnosis Show Where Your Team Becomes the Entertainment
A dozen or so people from your company volunteer and take a row of chairs at the front of the room. Everyone else sits back to watch colleagues they see every week do things they will be quoted on for the next year.
The show works because the funniest people in the room are already on your payroll. Warren Thackeray gives them the stage and stays out of their way.
Nobody leaves embarrassed
This is the first thing every event organizer asks about, and they are right to ask.
Warren has worked with hypnosis for eighteen years, six of them as a practicing hypnotherapist before he ever put it on a stage. That background is the reason volunteers come off looking better than when they went up. The comedy comes from the situations they find themselves in, and the room laughs with your people rather than at them.
Nothing private gets exposed. Every volunteer is there because they chose to be, and anyone who wants to sit back down does exactly that.
What actually happens
Stage hypnosis is a performance built on suggestion and imagination, and it only works with people who want to take part.
Warren starts by inviting the whole room into a short exercise, then works with the volunteers who respond most strongly to it. What follows depends entirely on who steps forward, which is why the people who were in the room spend the next week telling the story to everyone who wasn’t.
Where it works
Company parties, sales kickoffs, awards evenings, university and student events, end-of-year functions, and holiday celebrations.
It belongs in the part of an event where the formal business is finished and the room is ready to enjoy itself.
What the room needs
The show needs an audience of at least fifty people seated together. Volunteers respond differently in a room that feels full, and below that number the show loses the energy it runs on.
Beyond the audience, Warren needs a sound system with a lapel microphone, a second microphone on a stand for volunteers, a row of chairs at the front, and basic lighting on the performing area. He will walk your venue through the details well ahead of the date.
Run it alongside the mind reading show
Plenty of clients book both for a longer program, with mentalism earlier in the evening and hypnosis after dinner once the room has loosened up. Booked together they are quoted as one package.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Suggestion does not override a person’s own judgment. Volunteers stay aware of what is going on and decline anything they are not comfortable with, and the show is built so that never becomes an issue in the first place.
In a room of fifty or more there are reliably more volunteers than there are chairs. The opening exercise involves everybody, which makes stepping up feel a lot less exposed than being asked cold.
Typically 45 to 60 minutes, adjusted to fit the rest of your program.
Yes. Everything is clean by default and written for mixed corporate audiences. Tell Warren anything you would rather he stayed away from and he will build around it.
Check your date
Send Warren your date, your venue, and how many people you expect to have seated. He will come back with what would work and what it would cost.
